A popular statue in a shopping centre has been removed for repair after one of the legs was fractured.
The bronze statue, in memory of Blyth strongman and blacksmith Willie Carr, has been in the Keel Row shopping centre for the last 22 years.
But recently shoppers have noticed that the statue, situated near Store Twenty One and Shoe Zone, had gone missing.
Bosses have now moved to reassure shoppers it will return once it is fixed.
Callum Reid, centre manager at the Keel Row, said: “We are sorry that Willie has temporarily left the centre and understand that he has a lot of admirers in Blyth.
“We are currently getting him fixed and hope to have him return in the not too distant future.
“In the meantime, we have some very exciting plans under way at Keel Row, so keep your eyes peeled.”
Willie Carr died on September 6, 1825, aged 69.
