A county town will play host to a full three days of concerts and events at the end of the month.
Newbiggin will host the weekend festival from July 25 to 27, with a packed schedule of music including folk, pan pipes, blues and jazz, and will also encompass the annual RNLI Day and Armed Forces parade and service.
Organised by the town’s Portas Town Team, other activities will include an arts and crafts fair, a table top sale, dance exhibitions, open mic sessions and a ‘singing barbecue’.
Organiser Steve Peel said: “We’ve subsidised most of the costs, so many of the events are free, and even the concerts which have a ticket price are very cheap, starting at £3 per ticket.
“Most of the pubs and other venues are getting involved, so there should be something for everyone.
“Designed to attract visitors and entertain residents, the weekend will be a great opportunity to come and see how Newbiggin-by-the-Sea has developed, to sit on the wide clean beach and enjoy a day out at the seaside.”
