One of the most photographed Christmas trees has headed to London from the north east.

For the past 12 years the foresters of Kielder have provided the Houses of Parliament with a spectactular Christmas tree positioned at the base of Big Ben.

And last week, the Westminster Christmas tree began its annual journey, loaded on a huge truck and transported to London.

A forestry spokesperson said: “Kielder Forest and Water Park offers some of the UK’s biggest and most beautiful trees.”

Residents looking for smaller Christmas trees from Kielder Forest can purchase them from the Rothbury Christmas tree sales centre based at 1 Walby Hill, Rothbury, Morpeth.
