Tributes have been paid to a popular and well-loved woman who died just weeks after celebrating her 100th birthday.
Rosa Arrighi celebrated her 100th birthday on October 1 at the Crescent Cafe in Seaton Delaval which she has ran for most of her life, surrounded by her family and friends.
But sadly Rosa passed away on Sunday, October 20, in her sleep.
Her granddaughter Stefania Bonadies-Pirisi said: “I think it was her goal to get to 100 and when she did that she said enough was enough.
“She died peacefully and she waited until all of her family was there.
“She had been with her husband for 50 years until he died, and that was 15 years ago, so she has kept him waiting long enough.
Rosa’s funeral will be held at the Church of Our Lady and St Joseph in New Hartley onMonday, November 4, at 10.15am. Everyone is welcome.
