Trust wants action on woodlands strategy

THE government must commit the funding to put its vision for the future of England’s forests and woodlands into practice, says a Northumberland wildlife charity.

The government published a long-awaited response to the Independent Panel on Forestry, confirming public forests will remain in public ownership and positive steps will be taken to realise the full potential of public forests for wildlife and people. But Mike Pratt, chief executive at Northumberland Wildlife Trust, said: “Actions speak louder than words and so we await clear signs that the right action is being taken.”
