Vandals target ten cars in a single day

TEN cars were damaged by vandals in Cramlington in one day.

Vandals scratched the paintwork of the cars, parked in Romford Close and Richmond Way, between 7.40pm and 8.15pm a week ago on Monday.

Inspector Dave Fitzgerald, of Cramlington’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “Whoever is responsible has caused thousands of pounds’ worth of damage and a lot of concern in the local community.

“We are speaking to residents in the areas where the cars were damaged and studying CCTV footage in the area from around the time.

“Officers from the neighbourhood team have increased patrols in the Richmond Way and Romford Close areas.”

Northumbria Police can be contacted on 101 ext 69191.
