Wheelchair ramp worth £2,000 taken from home

CALLOUS thieves made off with a wheelchair ramp in Bedlington.

The theft took place from a house in Millfield South between Friday, December 21, and Thursday, December 27, where they took the large metal ramp valued at around £2,000.

Bedlington Neighbourhood Insp Karen Murray said: “This mindless theft has had a significant impact on the victim’s quality of life and will cost thousands of pounds to replace.

“We are carrying out enquiries at local scrap dealers, and we are urging anyone with any information to contact us on 101 ext 69191.”
