A children’s facility in Blyth has held its first ever toddle around its garden.

What A Hoot Day Nursery took part in the Barnardos Toddle on Wednesday, where children, staff and parents dressed up as aliens in pyjamas and took part in a series of activities.

The youngsters collected sponsorship to toddle five times around the nursery garden.

Manager and part owner Patsy Millen said: “Money has been invested into the old school site of St Andrews First School, which is being transformed into an activity centre where many jobs have been created through this.

“I am thrilled to be able to offer such a fantastic service to the community and beyond.”

Janice Heathcote, Barnardo’s north east fundraiser, said: “The toddle is all about children helping children and we are aiming to raise £1m.”
