Youngsters give their toys to help others

AN EXERCISE class for youngsters that has facilities in Cramlington and Morpeth has donated toys to disadvantaged children.

Youngsters who attend Tumble Tots have been placing gifts in special collection boxes as part of a toy amnesty.

The toys will now be distributed throughout the north east by Barnardo’s.

Skateboards, space hoppers, activity centres, cars, Lego, jigsaws and a children’s computer were among the goodies handed over.

The branches of Tumble Tots are run by husband and wife team Karen and Jonathan Land.

Jonathan said: “Everyone wanted to get involved and parents thought it was a really good idea, so they brought lots of toys in.

“We left boxes at centres throughout January and everybody was very generous.

“We thought it was a great idea for the children ... and a lovely way of making them realise how lucky they are and raising awareness for Barnardo’s.”
