Looking forward to bring play to Blyth

Having played to 2,500 people at the Gala Theatre in Durham, we are delighted to be able to bring A Funny Thing happened on the Way to Durham to Blyth Phoenix Theatre on Saturday.

We had a great time there last year with Amazing Grace.

The show, which was specially commissioned to celebrate the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels (albeit briefly) to the north east, premiered at the Gala last week and played to full houses and rapturous applause.

Our brief was to be irreverent and funny. We hope we succeeded in that while giving people a brief summary (in 100 minutes) of 1400 years of Northumbrian history.

Northumberland is central to the story we are delighted to be playing Blyth’s Phoenix Theatre on Saturday, July 13.

We would like to remind people that the tour also includes Bede’s World, Jarrow, on Friday, July 19, and concludes at the Playhouse, Whitley Bay, on Sunday, July 21.
