A PEDESTRIAN has been taken to hospital after he was knocked down by a cement mixer in Blyth.

The incident took place shortly before 2.15pm, when the man was struck by the vehicle in Thoroton Street.

Police say the victim remained conscious and has been taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary with what is believed to be minor injuries.
