Police are appealing for help after a man suffered head injuries during a night out in Ashington.

Officers recently received a call from a 51-year-old man explaining that he had suffered head injuries after a night out at the Bubbles bar on Saturday, April 16. He was unsure how he came about these injuries but had attended hospital and received treatment.

Inquiries are ongoing to try to establish how the man suffered these injuries and police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 300 27/04/16, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Harris said: "We think that the man may have sustained his injuries shortly after midnight inside the Bubbles bar and we need to speak to anyone who was in there at the time and who might have information to help. I'd ask anyone who saw or heard anything to contact us with any information that they think could help us ascertain how this man came about with his injuries."
