A Blyth resident has celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.
May Peebles was born in Birmingham in 1913 but moved to Edinburgh after she met her husband Sydney.
It was there they had a family before Sydney’s job as an engineer for the General Post Office brought them to Blyth in 1969, where May has lived ever since.
Sydney sadly died in 1991.
May, who has been a resident at Fallowfield House in Malvin’s Close for five years, celebrated her special day with a party with family and friends.
The great-grandmother-of-two was joined by deputy mayor of Blyth, Bob Parker, and his wife Margaret.
She was also delighted to receive a card from the Queen.
