Missing trees a blight on park

READING the front page article on vandalism to trees in New Hartley (News Post Leader, June 2), councillors musn’t visit Seaton Delaval’s Astley Park very often.

If they did they would find a lovely avenue of trees leading into the park from Elsdon Avenue, or at least it was a row of trees until vandals got at them, and as a consequence, seven or eight gaps where trees once were are apparent.

These will never be replaced, I’m sure, unless the local parish council deem otherwise.

It really is a blight on the park’s appearance and the sooner these people are caught the better
