A learning service workshop is proving a big success in helping cyclists to maintain their own bikes.

The facility in North Seaton is offering people the chance to gain an award in bicycle maintenance as part of the Learning and Skills Council, formerly the Northumberland Adult Learning Service.

Tutor Trevor Bell said: “Last year was a great success with three of our learners going on to full-time employment in the industry and several others now working as volunteers.”

The training is funded from Northumberland County Council’s Sustainable Transport Fund. The new course begins on Wednesday, September 30, from 9am to 3pm and also on Fridays or Tuesdays, depending on demand.

The course runs one day a week for 12 weeks and is City and Guilds approved to Level 1. Anyone interested can call Michelle on (01670) 854372.
