A teenage motocross rider was airlifted to hospital after falling from her bike in Northumberland yesterday.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Blyth, where the 14-year-old girl had suffered arm injuries, at 2.36pm.

The doctor-led GNAAS team assessed and treated the teenager at the scene before she was flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in a flight that took eight minutes.

The patient arrived in a stable condition.
