Multi-million pound contract awarded for property maintenance

AN EVENT is being organised by a county landlord for residents to find out more about planned works to properties.

Northumberland development company Arch has awarded a £3.5m contract to Gentoo for planned maintenance to their domestic and commercial property portfolio.

And residents are being invited to a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on Wednesday, August 8, to find out more about the scheduled work.

The event takes place at the Masonic Hall, John Street, Ashington, with sessions at 10am, noon, 2pm and 4pm.

Gentoo is looking for sub-contractors experienced in a wide range of trades including roofing, windows, bathrooms, kitchens, heating, electrical re-wiring, plastering, decorators, surveyors, asbestos removal and energy performance assessments.

Peter McIntyre, managing director of the Arch Group, said: “Arch is Northumberland’s largest private residential landlord with over 700 properties as well as a large commercial property portfolio.

“We have a continuous programme of home improvements and refurbishments and Gentoo have an excellent track record in this sector.

“Their tender represented excellent value for money and will also bring real benefits to the people and businesses in Northumberland.”
