A BLYTH mum has reached the finals of a major business awards competition.
Mum of twins and entrepreneur Delyth Raffell has earned herself a place in the final line-up of the Mumpreneur Awards.
The awards conclude with the annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who juggle business with family life.
The 44-year-old set up TwinsUK – an online retailer and resource centre for those with twins, triplets or more – six years ago.
And in October she is poised to launch Harmony Duo, a collection of UK-made, health-related nursery products she designed herself.
Delyth, whose company is based in Ashington, has been short-listed for the Best Mumpreneur Product, sponsored by Nat West, for the forerunner of the new range, her Harmony Duo double-sided feeding cushion which makes it easy to feed twins simultaneously, whether by breast or bottle feeding.
Judging her entry will be a panel of top entrepreneurs including Duncan Bannatyne, from BBC’s Dragon’s Den.
The awards final is at the Mumpreneur Conference being held in Warwickshire on September 25.
Delyth said: “It is good to be recognised, not just for the product which evolved after many years of feedback from mums of twins, but for the many challenges we have faced getting to this point.
“Every mother works hard, whether she’s in business or not.
“We are not saying we are special cases but we do come up with some amazing ideas and I am really looking forward to hearing about the achievements of other finalists.”
