Three new non-executive directors have been appointed by Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Alison Marshall, Allan Hepple and David Chester will take up their roles at the beginning of next year.

The trio bring with them significant skills in law, finance and human resources, years of experience of working in senior roles, as well as commercial and local authority expertise.

Alan Richardson, chairman of Northumbria Healthcare, said: “I am delighted to welcome Alison, Allan and David to our trust at such an exciting, albeit immensely challenging time for all NHS organisations.

“The skills they have developed from years of working at the top of their professions will help us branch out to different areas and continue to be a key player with new developments in the NHS while delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.”

Allan, a councillor for Cramlington South East on Northumberland County Council, said: “I have seen first-hand the benefits that have been brought to residents in Northumberland from the county council and Northumbria Healthcare working in partnership to deliver integrated health and social care.”

“Over the years it has given me great pleasure to see this partnership grow and in my new role I am keen to see this strengthen yet further, and increase partnership working with other public sector organisations to improve people’s lives and make better use of public funds.”
