New system will improve patient care

A care provider in Northumberland has bought a new system they say will vastly improve the way care is provided.

Bluebird Care Northumberland-South, which operates a number of care facilities across south east Northumberland, has signed a deal with digital systems developer, everyLIFE Technologies, to drive technological innovation and staff delivering care services up and down the country.

Under the agreement Bluebird Care will internally promote the exclusive use of everyLIFE Technologies’ PASSsystem to its franchise network.

Fiona Williams, director of operations for Bluebird Care, said: “With an aging population and the impact of government’s austerity measures, the demand for care and support services across the UK is already beginning to outstrip the supply of resources to provide it.

“We have identified a real need for technology to support our businesses to reduce operational costs whilst underpinning our mission to provide only the highest quality of service to our customers.”

Bluebird Care chose everyLIFE Technologies’ cloud-based product ‘The PASSsystem’ following a successful pilot scheme.

Smart phones used by staff facilitated the real-time flow of information about the customer’s care plan from their home to office support staff.

Updates such as tasks, nutrition, hydration and medication alerts are sent to office staff who in turn use this information to ensure customers continue to receive the very best care they need.

By the end of the year, 99 of Bluebird Care’s 201 offices will be using The PASSsystem.
