A youngster uncovered an unusual ‘message in a bottle’ while out for a walk on a county beach.

Seven-year-old Louis Walker from Seaton Delaval, was walking on South Beach in Blyth with mum Beverley when he found a sealed white canister.

“It was sealed at both ends by corks and wax, and when the corks were pulled out there was a sealed test tube inside,” said Beverley.

“The contents were very odd. There was hair, fingernail clippings, a tooth, a small piece of fabric, a note in German, and a stone with letters and symbols carved into it.

“It really got us intrigued and slightly spooked.

“Friends have speculated and researched what it might be, but we are hoping someone will have more ideas on what it is about.”
