On the road to exporting opportunities

A campaign promoting the benefits of exporting visited Ashington.

The Department of International Trade’s marketing truck, the export Hub, visited Wansbeck Business Park as part of the government’s Exporting is Great campaign.

Business Northumberland teamed up with the DIT to host a Northumberland specific event for businesses who were interested in exporting.

The free event featured a ‘Exploring New Markets and Business Growth’ workshop and helped businesses identify their ambitions, offering support to help develop potential channels and new routes to market.

Businesses could also go on the truck, network and meet local trade advisers.

Coun Dave Ledger, chairman of Arch, said: “This event was a fantastic opportunity for businesses to receive advice and support about exporting.”

“Northumberland is home to many successful businesses who already choose to export.

“It’s excellent that we can encourage more businesses to grow and succeed through the Business Northumberland porgramem and the Department of International Trade advice service.”
