A south east Northumberland radio station has relocated to new headquarters as part of its ambitions to grow.

Not-for-profit Koast Radio is now based in the YMCA in Ashington.

The online station has live shows every day, offers local information and a selection of genres of music.

It also recently launched a breakfast show which is already attracting wide attention.

The presenters at Koast also get out and about to broadcast live from local events.

The station has applied for an FM licence so that it can open more avenues and widen its coverage as it increases its audience.

Managing director Vicky Oakley said: “We have gone onwards and upwards in the short amount of time that we have been broadcasting from Ashington.”
