Councillors are urging residents to take part in a survey and give their views to help shape a town centre.
Cramlington Town Council is currently working alongside Action for Market Towns (AMT) on a benchmarking project to measure the economic performance of the town centre, and to identify its strengths and weaknesses.
Benchmarking gathers and analyses the economic performance of town centres based on 12 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including retail offering, footfall, business confidence, town centre user surveys, and also shoppers origin.
Despite recent improvements and investment Cramlington has been hit hard by the recession and it is hoped that the study will provide evidence and practical help to realise Cramlington’s potential.
To support this work people are being asked to complete a questionnaire to provide their ratings and views on various aspects of the town centre.
Town council chairman Ann Mitcheson said: “We would really welcome views on Cramlington town centre.
“Whether you are a frequent user or someone who just visits Cramlington, we would like to know your views – both positive and negative.”
