The Friends of Gallagher Park with Northumberland County Council are trying to enhance the facilities and surroundings in the park.
These include picnic benches, seats, litter bins, cycle tracks and mountain bike downhill tracks as well as volunteer litter picking and enhancing the woodland pathways.
But you do get the minority of vandals that want to destroy an environment that benefits the community.
What we would ask is for the public who use the park to be vigilant and report any vandalism or anti-social behaviour to the relevant authorities.
This park won the ‘best park award’ in 2013 for the country and has QEII status, which the residents of Bedlington should be proud of, I know I am.
The Friends of Gallagher Park are holding their AGM on April 7 at 7.15pm in Bedlington Station Community Centre and everyone is welcome.
We need fresh ideas so come along and voice your opinion and help to create a better Gallagher Park.
