STUDENTS with a keen eye for photography have proved they are no mugs after creating a stir with their beverage imagery.

Steph Purvis, Jake Steele and Ryan Robinson, from Morpeth’s King Edward VI School, were part of a 60-strong group of AS-Level photography students tasked with creating product images for the town’s branch of Costa coffee.

The trio’s images, chosen by their teachers, proved to be the cream of the crop.

Teacher Lewis Jackson said: “The shoot has enabled our students to engaged in a commissioned based photography project.

“We believe this experience has given them a valuable taste of commercial photography in a professional, vocational, environment.”

The images, framed on stretched canvas, will be on display in the Bridge Street coffee shop’s community wall area.
