As an elderly pensioner living in Ashington, we didn’t have any ‘fast food’ outlets, but we did have pride in our surroundings.
Pride seems to be a dirty word these days as litter is dropped daily from the people who use these outlets.
It seems to be a normal practice to create an eyesore. Maybe the ‘rubbish doppers’ can explain why they drop cans, bottles and cartons on the ground when there are plenty of litter bins nearby.
The council does its best (at a cost), but shortly after an area is cleaned, the streets are littered again.
So come on boys and girls, let’s try and help your mams and dads to tidy up after the snacks.
