Police back to school to tackle bullying

POLICE have been in the classroom to talk about bullying and anti-social behaviour.

CSO Helen Halliday and Pc Dave French, from the Ashington neighbourhood policing Team, visited Hirst Park Middle School.

The pair took over a morning assembly to talk about anti-social behaviour, carry out role plays around bullying, and held a question and answer session with pupils.

CSO Halliday said: “The morning was fantastic.

“The children got so involved with the role play and the feedback we got from the question and answer session showed that they understood what we’d been discussing.

“Opportunities like this are great ways to engage with young people.”
