A popular pub on a notoriously dangerous country road is causing parking problems for road users.
Police have received several calls from members of the public about parking near the Beehive Pub in Hartley Lane, near Seaton Sluice.
In recent weeks, officers have been visiting the pub to issue advice to motorists to drive at reduced speeds near the premises and to park considerately.
Police said they are working with the landlord and the local council who are planning to implement a 40mph speed limit.
Pub landlord Sean Kelly has increased the size of the pub car park, but motorists are still parking along the grass verge on the road outside.
Pc Dave Williams said: “We’re asking people not to park on the grass verge beside the Beehive Pub as this is a road safety issue.
“Drivers who obstruct the highway can face paying a £40 fixed penalty notice.”
