MP backing restaurant competition

A Blyth restaurant has been nominated for a national award by its local MP.

The Pan Ahar Tandoori, in Elliott Street, has been selected by Blyth Valley MP Ronnie Campbell as his entry to this year’s Tiffin Cup.

The competition is open to all MPs to put forward one restaurant in their constituency in a bid to find the best South East Asian restaurant in the county.

The Pan Ahar has been nominated in the past by Mr Campbell and has previously made the final at the House of Commons.

Last year there were 94 entrants.

Mr Campbell said: “I am delighted that the nomination for Pan Ahar Tandoori has been accepted and it will take part in this year’s Tiffin Cup. This is such a prestigious competition and I look forward to welcoming Pan Ahar Tandoori to the House of Commons, should it win its regional heat.”
