A familiar face is preparing to take over the running of a Blyth school this autumn when it becomes an academy.
Alison Jobling has been selected as the new principal at Blyth School Community College.
She is currently the acting head and will take up her post on October 1, when the school becomes Blyth Academy, sponsored by Northern Education Trust.
Roger Alston, chair of Northern Education Trust, said: “This was a unanimous decision for the interviewing panel with the Department for Education, Northumberland local authority and Northern Education Trust all selecting Alison as the most experienced and suitable candidate for the job.
“We will now continue to work closely with Alison and the school to ensure that the targets set by Ofsted are achieved and to embed an ethos of sustained improvement in the college.”
