PUPILS were given a first hand account of a north east author’s latest book.
The young members of The Blyth School Community College’s reading club listened as Sally Nicholls spoke about her new novel All Fall Down.
The book tells the story of a young girl who has to look after her brothers and sister during the year 1349, as the plague ravages the country.
Sally told the group of around 40 students about the gruesome history of the ‘Black Death’, using a game of chance to illustrate how easily people and animals became infected and how quickly the disease spread.
A question and answer session followed after which Sally chatted with students and signed copies of the new book.
