Youngsters at a Northumberland school have been forging links with a local care home as part of a project to learn more about the wider community.
The youngsters from James Knott Primary School in Ashington, have been taking part in a project with residents at Grange Care Home in the town.
The Year 4 and 5 pupils have been working with residents on activities including cookery and crafts, and the project has been so successful it has become a permanent project.
The care home residents are now preparing for a visit to the school.
School teacher Rachel Parkin said: “The relationship that the children have built with the residents has been fantastic.”
