BUDDING young artists are being offered the chance to win a prize fit for a king or queen.

Children are being invited to showcase their artistic skills in a diamond jubilee themed art competition organised by housebuilder Miller Homes.

The company has set children the task of drawing or painting a portrait of the Queen to celebrate her 60th year on the throne.

Entries can be dropped off at Miller Homes’ marketing suites including Alexandra Chase in Cramlington and Beaumont Court in Pegswood, where they will be displayed in special galleries from June 2, to June 5.

There are three age group categories – seven and under, eight to nine, and 10 to 11 – where each winner will receive a family ticket to Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

Budding artists can enter individually or through their school, with the added chance of winning £50 of art supplies for their school.

Competition packs have been sent to local schools and individuals can download the entry form at Miller Homes’ Facebook page, facebook.com/MillerHomesLtd

Entries can be submitted on a single A4 piece of paper, with name, age and contact details provided.

Karl Morton, Miller Homes north east sales manager, said: “We’re very excited to be launching our competition and can’t wait to see the entries.
