A newly refurbished care home in Northumberland has been officially opened.

Staff and residents at Bridge View care home in Stakeford, were joined by members of the public as Coun Ray Butler cut the ribbon and officially launch the new look home.

To celebrate the refurbishment, the home opened its doors for the local community to look around the brand new premises while local singer, Colin Summers, performed songs from a range of eras for guests.

The home has benefited from a refurbishment to both its interior and exterior, which has enhanced the surroundings for residents and visitors.

The refurbishment work involved a redecoration of the entire care home, including bathrooms, communal areas and bedrooms with new carpets, tiles, curtains, furniture and soft furnishings.

Manager Irene Wallis said: “The refurbishment has made a real difference in the home and the residents are very pleased with their new surroundings.

“It has been a great opportunity to open our doors and show the local community all of the wonderful things we have going on in the home.”
