A construction site manager has scooped a coveted industry award for his outstanding workmanship
Richard Hunter, of Bebside, Blyth, won a Quality Award in the Pride in the Job competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.
The 55-year-old works for Barratt Homes North East and is charge of a 30-strong construction team at the Riverside Crescent development at Blaydon.
Richard, who is married with one son and has 39 years’ experience in the industry, said: “I’m delighted at winning the award but it’s all down to the efforts of everyone on site.
“Working together as a team with managerial support enables me to achieve a first-class build quality.
“The most satisfying part of the job is seeing the completed home, and the buyer’s excitement when obtaining their keys. It makes it all worthwhile.”
He has worked for Barratt for five years and this is his third Pride In The Job award.
Mike Roberts, managing director at Barratt Homes North East, said: “I am extremely proud of Richard’s achievement in winning yet another Pride In The Job award.”
