A county middle school is celebrating receiving a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted.
Inspectors who visited Whytrig Middle School in Seaton Delaval rated the school as good across all four of the Ofsted categories including leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching, and achievement of pupils.
This achievement marks a milestone in the school’s progress since the previous inspection of ‘Requires improvement’ in 2013.
Executive headteacher, John Barnes, said: “Being rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted is fantastic news for Whytrig Middle School.
“It highlights the hard work and dedication of the staff, pupils, parents and governors.”
“Our aim now is to continue this hard work and ensure that Whytrig Middle is the first choice for parents in the area.
“We welcome anyone with children currently in first school to visit us, and see first-hand our happy, school environment.”
