A county-wide talent show is returning this summer, and the search is on to find the next north east star.
Auditions for Northumberland’s Got Talent will take place in May, setting the stage for the grand final as part of The Big Event 3 at Atlee Park in Bedlington on Saturday, June 21.
The family fun day, which is organised by charity Leading Link, is in its third year and was last year attended by more than 2,000 people on a sizzling summer day in May.
Previous winners of the competition have included dancing duo K&C, alias Kaitlyn Wright and Connor Scott, singer Chloe Wealleans-Watts, ‘Cat in the Hat’ Lucy Conroy and most recently trio Beth Little, Emily Wallace and Eleanor Monaghan aka BEE.
Jonny Hall, assistant manager of Leading Link, said: “Northumberland’s Got Talent is in its seventh year, and looking at those that have won the competition, its success speaks for itself. After an amazing event last year, we are expecting in excess of 2,000 people on the field at Attlee Park on the day and so this competition is a fantastic opportunity to show off your talents on a massive stage. Whether you audition and take part, support a friend or family member, or simply come along for a good day under the sun, you cannot afford to miss The Big Event this year.” Auditions for Northumberland’s Got Talent will take place on a timeslot system on Tuesday, May 13, between 2.30pm and 6pm at The Lodge, which is on the grounds of St Benet Biscop High School in Bedlington.
