Ship crewman helped by Blyth Coastguard

Blyth Coastguard were called to assist North East Ambulance Service on Sunday after a ship’s crewman suffered a dislocated knee.

Team members arrived at Dun Cow Quay, boarded the vessel and stabilised the casualty the best they could until the ambulance service arrived.

The casualty was then transferred to the awaiting ambulance via stretcher then transported to hospital.
