Shops need local people’s support

I WRITE in relation to the letter ‘We are now living in a ghost town’ (News Post Leader, February 23).

It was in response to the report that another shop in Blyth (Bonmarché) was to close, yet Cramlington’s store is still open.

Maybe if the writer and their family and friends used the Blyth stores instead of Cramlington it would still be open.

There’s a saying ‘use it or lose it’.

Everyone complains there is nothing in Blyth, but if people had a bit of loyalty to their local community the shops would do better.

I work in Blyth, and yes, it is very quiet. Why? Everyone’s in Cramlington.

If people don’t start using our shops there will be more to complain about. Support your local shops – simple.
