Spring clean for estate

RESIDENTS of Blyth put on rubber gloves and overalls to muck in at a clean-up event.

Tenants of the New Delaval Estate helped shift 23 tons of household and garden waste.

Homes for Northumberland organised the event with help from Northumberland County Council and the police.

Allan Hepple, director of neighbourhood services at Homes for Northumberland, said: “This community clean-up event has made a real difference to the look of this estate.”
