Residents at RMBI care home Scarbrough Court in Cramlington marked St Patrick’s Day with an Irish party and quiz.

Staff organised a themed afternoon – special green cakes and Guinness were available. Both residents and staff at the home dressed up in green colours and donned themed hats.

In addition, activities co-ordinator Dawn Peters organised a baking session to mark British Pie Week earlier in the month.

Some of the residents reminisced about baking Sunday tea for their families, shared their favourite recipes and made cheese and onion pies and apple pies for those who fancied a sweet treat.

British Pie Week, held in March each year, provides an opportunity for people across the UK to celebrate the nation’s comfort food favourite.
