A Blyth shop is urging women to support their latest campaign and give a real uplifting boost to breast cancer research.

Since raising £187 for Macmillan Cancer Support, fashion retailer Bonmarche has launched a new recycling initiative, Bra Amnesty, in aid of Against Breast Cancer.

Customers are being invited to call into the store at the Keel Row shopping centre and donate their unwanted bras.

All bras will be sent over to Africa, where there is a short supply of affordable garments for women, and any money generated from this will go towards Against Breast Cancer research.

Store manager Jackie Wilson said: “As a breast cancer survivor I am passionate to help in any way I can to see the end of this awful disease.

“I am also very keen to see how the women of Blyth respond to our appeal.”
