SUPERMARKET staff are holding a number of fundraising events to support the Comic Relief appeal.
Staff at Sainsbury’s in Cramlington have organised a charity gig at the town’s East Hartford Club this Sunday at 7pm.
It will include performances from The Smokin’ Barrels and Mirror Signal Manoeuvre.
Tickets to the music event cost £3 and are available at the club door.
There will also be a bake sale at the store in Manor Walks on Friday, March 18, and staff will be dressed in red to mark Comic Relief weekend.
So far the store has raised more than £1,500 for the charity, bringing it close to its target of £2,000.
Store manager, Rachel Owens, said: “It’s so easy to make a contribution to this year’s campaign.
“All of our colleagues will be having a great time raising funds in the next couple of weeks and we hope our customers will join in the fun as well.”
