A county construction firm is helping youngsters to get on their bikes after carrying out improvement works at a local cycle speedway track.
Owen Pugh’s contracts team undertook work at Sporting Club Cramlington to upgrade the surroundings of Northumbria Vikings Cycle Speedway Club’s track.
The works, which were supported by funding from Coun Kathy Graham, were carried out as part of Owen Pugh’s CSR programme and involved the installation of stone and flagged battering around the track, making it better for riders and spectators.
The works were carried out to support Northumbria Vikings Cycle Speedway Club’s Rock Up and Ride activity sessions for bikers aged five to 18.
The club’s coach, Richard Smith, said: “We are extremely grateful to Owen Pugh and Coun Graham for their assistance with the improvement works to the cycle speedway track.”
