Police are appealing for witnesses after a swan was shot dead in Northumberland.

The incident happened at a lake in Castle Island Way in Ashington at around 8.24pm on Friday, April 24.

The offenders shot the swan before making off.

The first offender is described as white, medium build, in his mid 20s wearing white shorts and a greet t-shirt. The second man is described as wearing a dark adidas tracksuit and baseball cap.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident and are asking any witnesses to contact them.
