A teenager is looking for public support in her bid to get Gary Barlow to perform at her birthday party.

Take That superfan Jess Waugh has launched a bid on social media to get the star to sing at her 18th birthday.

Gary announced on social media site Twitter that following the success of singing at weddings last year, he would sing at ‘milestone’ birthdays.

Although initially the milestones are believes to be 21, 30, 40, 50, 60 and even 100, Jess is hoping her moving into adulthood would appeal to Gary.

Jess, 17, of Blyth, said: “I’m a massive fan of Take That and I travel around the UK for the boys and the thought of having my idol at the gig would be more than amazing. They mean the world to me and it would be the best birthday.”

“This all came about thanks to my mam Joanne who got me into Take That around six years ago and we now go to everything together.

“I also have two amazing friends on board, Sarah Saward and Abbie Louise Holyroyd, who I met through the boys they have been absolutley amazing throughout this campaign so much and I want to thank them massivly they are amazing.”

Along with her friends, they have been tweeting pictures alongside the Twitter hashtag #GetGaryToJess18th
