A 200ft Tall Ship will be visiting Blyth and hosting an open day next month for visitors to go on board and explore.
The Stavros S Niarchos will be arriving at the port of Blyth with 40 students from Emmanuel Schools on board following their ten-night voyage from Southampton.
The 200ft brig is the biggest to be built in the UK in a century and the open day will provide the public with the opportunity to go on board, explore her decks and learn more about a modern day square-rigged brig.
The open day event will be held on Saturday, June 27, from noon to 5pm.
The Tall Ships Youth Trust will be hosting a sponsored rig climb in the morning from 10am to noon prior to the open day.
Some of the largest and most spectacular tall ships in the world will sail into Blyth over the weekend of August 26 to 29 in 2016.
