On Friday, May 29, my wife and I had to attend the out-patients’ department at Wansbeck General Hospital.
On arriving early for our appointment, we decided to visit the cafeteria / coffee bar, only to discover that due to staff shortages there was to be no service that day.
Whilst we sat there, two ladies, who I presumed to be members of staff, passed the time of day with us and enquired as to what we wanted. They then left only to return not only with coffees but also with biscuits and a copy of the morning paper, which they presented to us free of charge.
We would like to thank those two ladies for their kindness and consideration towards two elderly people (89 and 87 respectively) and with them good luck and happiness for the future.
