Police are appealing for witnesses after three cars were broken into in Blyth last week.
A number of items were stolen from the vehicles on the Chase Farm estate, near Asda.
The break-ins took place overnight on Tuesday, May 6.
Officers are now urging motorists to make sure they remove all personal items and lock their vehicles while unattended.
Blyth Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Simpson, said: “Leaving cars unattended and unlocked is an open invitation to thieves, and when valuables are left on display or in the boot, it is an easy opportunity for criminals.
“I would urge everyone to ensure cars are left locked when parked up and valuables are removed.”
Anyone with any information into the thefts should call police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference 104 070514.
